It describes our credit union’s privacy policy and practices concerning the personal information we collect and disclose about our members. It also includes information about the parties who receive personal and sometimes nonpublic information from us as we conduct the business of the credit union. What does M-C Federal Credit Union do with your personal information?

Please note: If you are a new customer, we can begin sharing your in formation 45 days from the date we sent this notice. When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this notice. However, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing.

What we do

How we protect your information: To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. All documents that include sensitive information are stored in a secure location within the credit union. How we collect your information: We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • open an account or apply for a loan
  • use your credit or debit card or make a wire transfer
  • show your government-issued ID
We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies. Why can’t I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only
  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you
State law and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. What happens when I limit sharing on a joint account: Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.

Definitions:

Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies. (M-C has no affiliates)

Nonaffiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies. Nonaffiliates we share with can include insurance companies, government agencies, plastic card processors (credit/debit/ATM), consumer reporting agencies, and check/share draft printers.

Joint Marketing A formal agreement between unaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you. Our joint marketing partners include CUNA Mutual Group’s MEMBERCONNECT and American Income Life Ins Co.
