Fraud Alert – Beware Fraudulent Payment Message

MC Federal Credit Union has been notified that members are receiving fraudulent text messages that appear to come from our institution. The message references a payment processed against your account and you are asked to click on a link if the payment was not authorized. The link leads to a fraudulent website where you are asked to enter your digital banking credentials. This is a scam.MC Federal Credit Union will never send an unsolicited text message that asks for your digital banking credentials.

Below is an example of the reported text message. There may be other variations with differing payees and amounts. Red flags contained in this message are improper grammar and a link that is not associated with the credit union.

To keep your information safe, do not provide confidential information to anyone not authorized to have it. Do not respond to unsolicited messages or click on links contained in them. Please report any suspicious communications to a member service representative as soon as possible by calling us at 800.834.0082, stopping in a branch, or sending us a message via Digital Banking.

If you have provided your digital banking credentials, or other personal information, to anyone unauthorized to have them, please let us know immediately so we can take action to protect you and your account.
